Rec U Events are a place to meet other adults who have similar interests, to safely participate in various activities & have FUN!

Every member should know that the Greater Vancouver Recreation Unlimited Club (the “Club”) exists to provide active adults with the opportunity to engage in a wide variety of sports, leisure, and recreational activities, and are interested in joining to have fun and meet people with similar interests.  The club is a means by which individuals can, through combining their various resources (such as knowledge, talents, skills, time, and money), create and participate in interesting events normally beyond the means of just one person acting alone.

As a member, each and every person will accept full responsibility for their own actions and behave in a courteous and respectful manner to other members, and those who they come in contact with while engaged in Club activities, whatever the venue.

Each member understands that in a Club of this type they may find themselves and/or others occasionally subject to the unsolicited and/or unwanted attention or actions of other members, and each member agrees that they will handle such situations in a mature, adult, and courteous fashion.  Should repeated attempts to discourage such behaviour as they deem offensive or unacceptable not resolve the situation to their satisfaction, they understand that they may ask the Executive for assistance in finding a resolution under the Membership Policies concerning Unacceptable Behaviour by Members.

Every member will do their best to ensure that they do not give anyone cause to make a complaint about their actions, and will try to help others avoid such situations as well, because they understand that behaviour deemed unacceptable under the Membership Policies can lead to the cancellation of membership.

Each member will make good any financial commitments that they may make to the Club and they will help support Club activities through volunteering to assist with Club events or administration as appropriate.

Each member understands that personal information included in their application to the Club will be kept in confidence by the Club and not released to other members without their express consent.

Each member will realize that information given to them by other members such as telephone numbers and street addresses is often intended for them alone, and they will not give that information to others without the consent of the member in question.
